It's truly hard to believe we are old enough to have a 35th reunion, aren't they for old people? Funny, I still feel like I'm 20 but when I look in the mirror I do wonder who that is looking back. I know they look familiar did that person march in the Memorial Day parades, perform in the Cats Meow, bring their motorcycle into the school? Did she really get up at 3 in the morning to catch the bus to speech tournaments? It's just a blink of the eye and it's gone. I tell my son to cherish and enjoy these days in school because in a blink of an eye they'll be gone. I lived in LA for 11 years worked in my beloved film industry. Moved to Kansas City for a year and a half and then moved to Arlington Heights (Chicago) and have been here since 1995. We have an amazing son who is one of the top trumpet players in his district and went to Northwestern last summer to study jazz. I work as a medical massage therapist. Jim and I've been married 20 yrs in Oct. and we are busy doing dog rescue specifically Greyhound and Labrador which we have one of each. Life is so full of surprises along the way, after my mom died in '79 my dad met and married Betty Virtues mom and they had 16 really good years together before my dad died suddenly in '95. It's strange how things twist and turn. I come back to Toledo several times a year to see my brother and I am amazed at how much it has changed. I look forward to seeing you all in July. |

I am sorry to have to miss the reunion. Our youngest son is getting married and we wouldn’t miss it for the world! My husband, (SHS '73) Ray, and I retired to Franklin, TN where we have a home close to our two sons & a daughter-in-law. We are enjoying our life and community here in Franklin. Being near our kids and assisting with our youngest son’s upcoming wedding has been a blessing. |

Comment: Can't wait to see everyone at the reunion and reconnecting!! So much easier now with technology!! Haven't had a reunion since our 20th at Lourdes College but you know what they say, good things come to those that wait!! Hopefully, this will kick things off so we stay more in contact through the years. Don't want to have so many years in between getting together otherwise next time we could be having races with our walkers!! Getting together with friends from high school is a great shot of nostalgia and fun!! Guaranteed to make you laugh and feel like you are 18 again. No need for botox or plastic surgery to revisit your youth. Besides we are not really ready to become seniors yet and take advantage of special discounts. You know what they say, 50 is the new 40. I did Interior Design for 10 years and owned a retail store for 20 years and now I am onto my next adventure! I am officially an empty nester but much of my time is taken up with four senior pets and three parents in their 80's. I am also the official gardener at our abode. We live on a reservoir and spend a lot of time in the summer entertaining! Give me a call if you are in the Indy area!! | |
What would your friends be the most surprised to know about you now?: | I still have long blonde hair which is my secret to looking the same since high school. I am pretty much the same as in high school, still planning events, cherishing friends and being silly having fun. I was on a World Tennis Team that won Nationals. |
Share a favorite memory -- something that made you laugh or cry or feel pride in your school...share: | How, can I pick just one! Traveling to the Burnham building as sophomores and accidently rolling down the hill, flaming splints in Chemistry, pep band, Honor students doing dishonorable things and spending time in The Pub with Mr. Marlo for yearbook. |
Who was your favorite teacher?: | Miss Graber(Biology) & Mr. Marlo. But some teachers were just legendary Mr. Sheronick, Mr. Able, Madame Vardinakis & Mrs. Engle. Not to mention the music dept. with Watson & Field, Alleshouse & Davis. |
Share an embarrassing moment or a prank that was played on someone else or on you...: When wasn't there pranks going on in Orchestra when the band members joined for pre-concert practice. A mouse on the drums, bubbles in the baritones/tubas, stealing music and playing the wrong parts. Poor Mr. Alleshouse was in tears! Running jokes were the name of the game in The Pub. Earlier years, we threw coats out of the window in Miss Barley's classroom & loved to do imitations and make parodies of our beloved teachers. Now it could be a stand up comedy act! |

Updating info from our last Reunion. Excited to reconnect with Classmates at our 50th Reunion in 2025!! We are in the transition stage of our lives. Spending more time in Northern Michigan and Arizona. Our two children live out west, so we are spending more time to be near them. Lots of things fill my life at this point but this past Summer was filled with gardening, Pickle ball, sunset watching, star gazing & looking for the Northern lights! Being surrounded by nature, family & friends make my heart happy! ❤️ |
