Comment:  Hi Everyone!  I look forward to seeing my dear friends from Sylvania class of '78.  What a wonderful event and special thanks to all of those who have worked so hard to plan and organize our 35th reunion.

My husband, John, and I have lived in Aurora, OH for the past 25 years and love the Cleveland area despite 'Le Quit' James.  We will survive.  After 30 years working in the garment/fashion industry and owning a business for 15 years, I am now employed by Kent State University and teach in their fashion school. I thoroughly enjoy the students and having the opportunity to 'give back' and share my knowledge and experience with them as they strive and work toward their dreams and ambitions.

John and I have two children:  Alex, 24, our son, is a soon to be third year law student at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland; Emily 21, our daughter, is entering her senior year at Miami University in Oxford, OH and is majoring in architecture.    ...we owe.. we owe so off to work we go!!!  John and are have been truly blessed.

We enjoy gardening and time spent at a family home on Burt Lake in Michigan.  Go Blue!
What would your friends be the most surprised to know about you now?: I fought 2 year battle with cancer: Hodgkins lymphoma. Later treatment included a radical stem cell transplant at the Cleveland Clinic. The blessing is that after 10 years I remain cancer free. The 'journey' was life altering.

Here's my story ... for anyone's that's so interested.  Married nearly 28 years.  3 grown children - all Sylvania School System products.  Oldest is a producer for NBC in LA - alternative entertainment media development.  Daughter, middle child - business to business direct sales assoc. in Chicago.  Youngest is an aspiring comedian and was recently selected for a leading role in new Warner Bros. picture 'Project X'.  No grandchildren to report (specifically, none that I've been told about).

Wife Wendy is a successful sales associate at Brown Honda (and previously a realtor).  I am an owner optometrist here in Toledo at Westgate Vision Center.  Additionally, there are 3 other Toledo area practice affiliations and 1 in Ypsilanti, MI.  I live less than a mile from my childhood home (boring...) and still hang out with classmates Joel (Linda Katz) Beren and Fred Treuhaft.  LOL.

What would your friends be the most surprised to know about you now?: Hair is real - not a toupee

Share an embarrassing moment or a prank that was played on someone else or on you...: Jeff Denny decided one day to go into the men's room, removed his clothes and streaked. Got caught. Got suspended. Enlisted in the Navy. Married a gal from the Phillipines. Got divorced. Grew nine or ten inches. Finished his education. Went to work in Washington, D.C. as a key staffer for a member of Congress. What might have happened had he not streaked that day??

Anne Crawford (Schnitker)

Comment: Doug (a Whitmer kid) and I, after 34 years of marriage, are grandparents of four wonderful children. We both

work as teachers now, and keep a simple shack

in the woods of Michigan for breaks from suburbia.

Memories of choir music are the most indelible, thanks

to both Mrs. Vance and  Mr. Davis, and Mr. Kocher's

weird science humor was always appreciated.  I hope to

make the reunion, but if I seem to forget who you are, just

give me a few cues and the light will come on!

What would your friends be the most surprised to know about you now?: The peace/love hippy married into the military, and my children served, too.
Share a favorite memory -- something that made you laugh or cry or feel pride in your school...share: I confess, high school memories are a bit foggy... go figure.
